History: About 70 years ago, Sliver was an agent of the Patriots. However, during a mission, he and his unit completely disappeared. A week later,they found Sliver catatonic and discolored to the point where he looks like he's constantly in monochrome.
An examination revealed that whatever they encountered, splintered his mind and soul to the point where his personality and memories ceased to exist. He ended up being taken to a Patriots facility where they researched his condition. It took seven decades, but they finally managed to at least restore enough of his mind to return his personality. He still has no memories of his past life, though, and he has no soul.
So he's traveling in search of information on his condition, so he can repair himself.
